Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a leading government contracting firm who is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team on a Contract-to-Hire basis.
Location: Lorton VA Hybrid (3 days onsite 2 days remote)
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Conversion Salary: $85000$110000

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in General Ledger (GL) accounting and GovCon compliance. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced federally regulated environment and have hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting operations including GL data entry and reconciliations.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist with financial statements supporting schedules and audit readiness.
- Support DCAA audits incurred cost submissions and compliance with federal regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Payroll HR IT) to ensure accurate financial data.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
- 5 years of experience in GL accounting month-end close and reconciliations.
- Current experience with Deltek Costpoint (or other large ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of GovCon accounting practices and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with FAR DCAA and federal compliance frameworks.
