Job Summary
TheNews Anchoris the trusted voice and face of our newsroomdelivering compelling accurate and engaging content across all platforms. This role combines strong on-air presence with editorial leadership to connect with audiences in a meaningful way.
- Presents news stories and other content for all platforms including CTV Digital
- Host a Digital CTV Show
- Uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity and production quality.
- Write and deliver clear concise and engaging news stories.
- Produce newscasts and provide clear direction to team members.
- Collaborate on writing copy editing research and coordination of news programming.
- Report from the field as assigned and conduct interviews.
- Respond quickly to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations.
- Participate in promotional activities and community events.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Edits video clips as assigned.
- Writes content for the website and other digital platforms.
- Engage with viewers and users on social media.
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or equivalent experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to ad-lib when necessary.
- Minimum of four years experience in news reporting or anchoring (varies by market size).
- Strong on-air presence and excellent news judgment.
- Broad knowledge of local and national current events history and key issues.
- Leadership experience with the ability to guide motivate and mentor others.
- Ability to meet deadlines prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong listening and problem-solving skills.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Flexibility to work any shift.
