Duties

1) Manage the NASA-funded Hawaii Center for Aeronautics and Air Mobility Research (ACEIR) Project and Hawaiis Aspiring Aerospace Engineers Academy (HAAEA) Project activities;

2) work with projects teams and manage the student reports for review and their preparations for showcasing the project results;

3) periodically report the progress in the projects including student performance data to the Principal Investigator (PI);

4) assist the PI with drafting quarterly and annual performance reports in a format consistent with the structure of NASA reports;

5) work with departmental staff and ITS to create the ACEIR project website and maintain both projects websites;

6) support and manage student research study groups and the community members groups in rocketry unmanned aerial systems satellite ground stations and CubeSat mission design and development planetary landing technologies and other groups as appropriate;

7) coordinate activities in organizing the International Conference on Dynamic Games Optimal Guidance and Applications in Autonomous Systems (ICDGAS-2026) to be held in April 22-24 2026;

8) disseminate the student project performance via the HAAEAs and ACEIRs websites high schools websites and on other media platforms as appropriate.


Responsibilities:

1) Form and manage student research study groups in rocketry unmanned aerial systems satellite ground stations and CubeSat mission design and development planetary landing technologies and other groups as appropriate including the Capstone research groups.

2) Periodically report the progress to the PI.

3) Draft quarterly and annual performance reports on both HAAEA and ACEIR projects for NASA.

4) Organize and manage the showcasing events of students performance and ICDGAS-2026.

5) Coordinate and schedule the project meetings.


Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in STEM-related projects good communication skills. Experience on working in a high school environment and providing mentorship and guidance to students. Knowledge about NASA space missions and opportunities for students. Knowledge and experience in working with Adobe MS Office programs and other software.


Desirable Qualifications

Experience in informal teaching at high schools. Knowledge about NASA Moon and Mars missions experience with and knowledge of space mission maneuvers abilities to work with high schools administrations and teachers abilities to set up coordinate and manage project activities experience in organizing and running conferences experience on data collection analysis and its reporting.
