A large inclusive and well-regarded primary school in Ealing is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January. The school is known for its strong leadership positive staff culture and excellent SEN provision. Inclusion is central to the schools ethos and pupils with additional needs are fully supported to thrive academically socially and emotionally.
The school caters for children from a wide range of backgrounds and supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) ADHD speech and language needs learning difficulties and social emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The SENCO leads a structured and well-resourced SEN department and staff receive clear guidance and ongoing support.
This role would suit an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about working in a primary school setting and committed to making a long-term difference.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs. The role will involve a combination of 1:1 support small group interventions and in-class support depending on the needs of the pupils.
You will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum manage their emotions and develop positive learning behaviours. Consistency patience and a nurturing approach are essential.
Providing tailored SEN support within the classroom
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting pupils with ASD ADHD and communication needs
Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management
Encouraging independence and confidence
Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans
Working closely with teachers SENCOs and support staff
Supporting pupils during transitions and unstructured times

You will ideally have:
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role
Experience working with children with SEN in a primary setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A patient nurturing and resilient approach

Supportive and approachable leadership team
Clear guidance from an experienced SENCO
Long-term stability and potential for permanent roles
