Purpose of the role

We are seeking a proactive and driven Data & Media Analyst to join our expanding Analytics & Insights team supporting the APAC region. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical capabilities proven experience in data storytelling and expertise in building clear effective this role you will contribute to key client accounts and new business opportunities by delivering high-quality analysis and reporting grounded in robust data extraction. Your work will empower our communications teams with actionable insights that inform and strengthen strategic decision-making.

Using tools such as Cision Brandwatch Meltwater Talkwalker and others along youre your scripting or coding capabilities (e.g. Python Google Scripts) you will integrate and interpret diverse datasets to produce actionable insights that enable brands to build effective efficient and accountable communications and marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Media & Research Analysis

  • Conduct research using various sources including online databases academic journals and industry reports and analysis on media and social media listening platforms. E.g. Brandwatch Meltwater

  • Collect organise clean and analyse data to identify trends patterns and insights relevant to client or company objectives.

  • Assist in preparation of consumer research methodology e.g. qualitative interviews quantitative surveys either internally or with external 3rd party research vendors.

  • Assist in preparing reports presentations and other materials summarising research findings for internal and external stakeholders. This includes data visualisation to ensure they are easily readable to layman.

  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas develop research methodologies ways of analysis and interpret results.

  • Maintain accurate records of research activities and findings for future reference. Stay updated on industry trends market developments and best practices in research and analysis.

  • Monitor and identify media coverage and social conversations on key topics of interest across all mainstream and social media platforms for clients on a 24/7 cycle.

  • Ensure the delivery of excellent consistent service and results to clients; bring rigorous evaluation and measurement to campaign planning and reporting.

  • Takes responsibility for ensuring excellent client communication at all levels defining KPIs deadlines and service agreements.

New Business

  • Collaborate with pitch team; understand the brief requirements recommend data segments put forth hypothesis and prep research (from tools or quant/ qual surveys) run media and/ or social listening insights that build the foundation of the strategy.

Client Management

  • Provide counsel for all monitoring reporting and insights-based tasks relevant to key public relations accounts across the APAC region.

  • Work with account servicing teams to ensure account profitability and optimise reporting and monitoring revenues for the business.

  • Deliver an added-value consultancy and works closely with clients to direct campaigns and introduce services and products across traditional and emerging communications channels.

General

  • Run and support training sessions with a view to maximising opportunities to expand team skills and grow revenues

About you

You are a highly curious individual with a foundation in research and/ or data analytics and have demonstrated your ability to distil broad volumes of data into critical insights. You are open-minded and agnostic across data sets; in occasions with limited resources you are able to find workarounds prioritise what is available and provide caveats to ensure analysis integrity. You have a positive growth mindset and a team player wanting to learn collaborate implement and contribute to any projects; small or big.

You have an eye for detail is a whiz at organising large volume of data into easy to read charts and obsessed about understanding the so what & why behind data.

With experience working for a PR /Communications agency media monitoring or research house you enjoy counselling stakeholders and devising new ways to monitor track and report campaign successes. You dont hesitate to give suggestions where improvements can be made.

  • 2-3 years of professional experience in PR/ Communications agency media monitoring or research house.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesise data from multiple sources.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Familiarity with research tools databases e.g. Statista media monitoring tools such as Brandwatch Cision Meltwater and visualisation platforms such as LookerStudio PowerBI Tableau etc.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders

  • Robust understanding of integrated communications; experience integrating PR with digital marketing content and broader marketing activities

  • Involvement in preparing and presenting pitches

  • Can problem solve project manage multi-task; calm under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines

  • Integrity humility self-drive/initiative sense of responsibility and humour
