Entry-level/Early-career Electrical Engineering role focused on managing small electric distribution projects under senior engineer supervision.
Position Description
Working knowledge of all but not limited to the following:

OUC Construction Standards Manuals (Overhead and Underground)
-
OUC Electric Service and Digital Meter Installation Manual
-
NEC / NESC books
-
OUC Engineering Manual
-
Letter of Responsibility - unique specification package provided to customers
-
Permits issued by local governing agencies
-
Process to obtain a meter installation
-
Construction crew scheduling
-
Limitations of construction crews abilities with regard to equipment and manpower
Familiarity with all but not limited to the following:
-
Civil AutoCAD and technical drawings
-
Riser diagrams
-
GIS maps
-
Invoices
-
Estimate reports
-
Equipment (i.e. iPhone measuring wheel company radio hammer wood stakes spray paint)
-
Software applications (i.e. PSERM CC&B AutoCAD ePets Arc-Reader ARM360)
-
Related industry organizational and departmental policies practices and procedures

Legal guidelines ordinances and laws
Additional competencies include:

Ability to calculate amperage on both sides of the meter for wiring/transformer sizing voltage drop and fault current
-
Understanding and application of governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records

Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers fractions and decimals and compute rates ratios and percentages
-
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone computer copier etc.)

Analyze future projects from a distribution electrical engineering perspective by preparing designs plans specifications cost estimates and construction documents

Oversee projects and manage capital projects from start to finish providing electric service to new and existing customers
Primary Functions
-
Prepare designs plans/specifications and documents for Electric Distribution projects
-
Complete cost estimates for Electric Distribution projects
-
Manage Electrical Distribution projects from development stage through completion
-
Analyze electrical plans for new project developments (commercial and residential)
-
Review completed projects by comparing actual costs with estimated costs and verify accuracy of new infrastructure within OUC GIS mapping system
-
Resolve conflicts with multiple parties including OUC customers contractors governmental agencies and internal employees
-
Inspect distribution infrastructure installed by private contractors and OUC contractors
-
Perform other duties as assigned

This role will help supplement the workload as OUC incorporates Grid Hardening projects during this fiscal year. OUC Distribution Electric customers are growing exponentially especially in the STC area.
