The role of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) involves executing clinical support tasks under the direct supervision of the Office Nurse or Physician.

Confidentiality is a must regarding all aspects of the practice including sensitive information concerning employees and patients.
Key responsibilities encompass but are not limited to:
- Performing phlebotomy administering injections conducting child immunizations and executing lab tests and other procedures pertinent to the scope of CMAs.
- Supporting physicians during examinations by obtaining vital signs including blood pressure pulse temperature and respiration rates.
- Ensuring examination rooms are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Managing patient phone communications as directed by the physician.
- Providing patient education as instructed by the physician.
- Requisitioning medical supplies to maintain sufficient inventory levels.
- Assisting with the upkeep of medical records completing referral forms lab slips and documenting other essential information as requested by the physician.
- Aiding patients in navigating the clinic preparing for exams and during various procedures as required.- Collaborating on nursing procedures as assigned by the physician.
- Supporting other operational areas as requested by management or the Clinical Coordinator within the boundaries of CMA certification.
Teamwork and flexibility are critical components of this position.
**Qualifications:**
- Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant curriculum or specialized training (minimum of 2 years)
- Required.- At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical environment
- Required.- Maintenance of Medical Assistant certification
- Required.- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification - Required.
**Certification Standards:**
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
