Paraway Pastoral Company is seeking a Cropping Overseer to join our team at Old Bundemar Station near Warren in Central West NSW.
Old Bundemar is a large-scale diverse enterprise covering 22370 hectares combining a strong livestock program with an ambitious cropping strategy. The property features a substantial 9000 hectare dryland cropping operation complemented by 220 hectares of high-value irrigation utilising access to the Macquarie River. With a history of strong cropping performance quality soils and reliable infrastructure Old Bundemar is an ideal location to develop practical skills within a team focused on efficiency contributing directly to Paraways supply chain.
About the roleThis role is integral to the day-to-day management of the property working closely with and supporting the Station Manager to ensure the continued success and optimal performance of the irrigated and dryland cropping enterprises. You will play a vital role in the operational delivery of the cropping program while also supporting the balanced management of associated forage crops.
Key responsibilities- Competently operate broad acre cropping machinery & experience with GPS technology
- Supervise and coordinate aspects of the irrigated dryland cropping and fodder programs to ensure timely operations
- Ensure all cropping machinery is maintained to a high operational standard and manage maintenance schedules
- Manage allocate and coordinate staff including operating and instructing staff on machinery use
- Be a strong communicator and self-motivated to achieve production goals
- Able to work independently and take on responsibility
- Demonstrate efficient organization and a commitment to continuous improvement
What youll bring- Prior farm experience and strong broad acre cropping skills
- A practical approach strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- A moderate level of mechanical and welding skills minimum
- Ability to work well in a small team and communicate clearly
- Pride in keeping equipment and facilities in order
- Current drivers licence
