As a Property Accountant you will be a key accounting resource at a regional level and will work with the Finance and Accounting team to support the Operations Receivables and Payables teams. The role will allow you to gain and develop an in-depth understanding of property accounting by immersing you in the day-to-day accounting for both multifamily and commercial real estate. This is a great opportunity to start a career in Property Accounting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the timely and accurate production of property financial reports variance analysis NOI analysis and account reconciliations on a monthly quarterly and annual basis.
- Preparing and reviewing day-to-day transactions and journal entries as part of a full accounting cycle.
- Preparing and maintaining various schedules including property taxes and utilities.
- Producing high quality financial analysis in a timely manner to ensure that the Operations and Management team have the key insights to drive business and operational decisions.
- Interfacing and regularly communicating with various teams throughout the organization to better understand reporting and analysis needs and deliver accordingly.
- Assisting in production of a timely and supported annual budget.
- Other duties within the nature and spirit of the job as required.
Must Haves
- University degree or college diploma in accounting
- Entry-level to 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft programs
- Excellent organization and attention to details
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivation and initiative
- Ability to prioritize and manage time and activities efficiently
