A full-time research technician position in the laboratory of Dr. C. Neal Stewart within the Department of Plant Sciences and affiliated with the Center for Agricultural Synthetic Biology. This position is grant-funded and continued employment is contingent upon funding. The research technician will assist in the improvement of plants through geneticengineering and syntheticbiologyto help address real world challenges in agriculture and the environment.

Assist in performing PCR plasmid DNA isolation restriction enzyme digestions gel extractions yeast transformation plant transformation preparation of media and buffers plant care and other tasks as needed.
Greenhouse maintenance and plant care including potting watering and fertilizing.
Record data for plant molecular biology experiments.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors degree required in Plant biology molecular biology genetics biochemistry or any other related field.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
General knowledge of molecular biology concepts and procedures
Ability to perform basic molecular biology-related techniques
Ability to analyze data and prepare results for use in manuscripts or presentations.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a highly interdisciplinary team-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Masters Degreein Plant biology molecular biology genetics biochemistry or any other related field.
Experience:
1-2 years experience in laboratory of related field.
