AGENCY OVERVIEW
The Jefferson County Sheriffs Office (JCSO) is in Louisville Kentucky and serves as the largest Sheriffs Office and fourth largest law enforcement agency in the state. Its approximately 250 sworn 60 civilian and 75 volunteer Reserve Deputies perform its main duties of providing court security serving court orders and collecting property taxes. The members of JCSO also serve the community by supporting the work of local charitable organizations and providing a positive presence that ensures the safety of residents of Jefferson County.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The purpose of this position is to coordinate personnel & payroll functions for the agency.
Examples of Duties
- Assists in resolving problems and complaints.
- Evaluates personnel procedures for effectiveness and recommends modifications and improvements.
- Prepares training modules and conducts employee training sessions.
- Represents the agency to discuss explain or coordinate personnel functions policies or procedures.
- Controls expenditures and assists in budget preparations.
- Conducts research collects and analyzes data and prepares reports on personnel activities and operations.
- Processes payroll verifies and runs related reports.
- Monitors the processing of personnel forms correspondence records or documents.
- Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Bachelors degree in Business Public Administration or related discipline.
Three (3) years of industrial employee or labor relations or human resources generalist experience.
Anequivalent combination of education training and experience will be accepted.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience processing payroll.
Knowledge and/or experience with UKG for payroll and HRIS recordkeeping.
Knowledge and/or experience using AS400 software.
Knowledge and/or experience using KHRISsystem.
SALARY/BENEFITS
The salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Employees participate in the Non-Hazardous Duty retirement under CERS offered by the KPPA.
JCSO pays 100% medical premiums for single coverage and 90% for other plan levels.
Competitive plans for vision and dental.

$20000 Basic Life Insurance provided.
