Banking and Finance Senior Associate/Director

Are you an ambitious Banking and Finance Solicitor ready to shape the future of a growing regional team

Our client a highly successful and expanding law firm in Ipswich offers a unique opportunity to take a leadership role drive business development and work on high-value complex transactions across the South East and East Anglia.

The Opportunity

You will join a dynamic team with a strong reputation in banking and finance providing guidance and support to help you excel. Expect to work on a broad range of matters including:

  • Syndicated and bilateral conventional lending

  • Property finance (acquisitions investment development/construction)

  • Education loans and housing association finance

  • Acquisition finance re-financings restructurings and work-outs

  • Private finance asset finance and asset-backed lending

You will play a key role in establishing and growing the Banking and Finance practice in Ipswich building relationships and a team to service the East Anglian region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft negotiate and agree finance documentation (facility agreements security documents LMA and firm precedents)

  • Draft and negotiate ancillary documentation (fee letters undertakings corporate authorities)

  • Manage transactions and coordinate with team members on larger deals

  • Drive business development and build a strong local presence

  • Mentor and support junior team members

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 6 years PQE in banking and finance law

  • Strong technical skills and ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Proven experience in drafting negotiating and managing finance transactions

  • Business development mindset and desire to grow a practice

  • Excellent relationship-building communication and leadership skills

  • Ambitious proactive and collaborative approach
