Purpose of the Position
The Impact Delivery Lead Mexico will deliver impact for the Food Waste reduction programme working closely with our local partners in Mexico and with WRAPs global teams. This role will strengthen WRAPs presence in Mexico by bringing the WRAP expertise and networks to facilitate the successful implementation and widespread engagement of our Food Waste Voluntary Agreement (Pacto Por La Comida) and other food system transformation topics where appropriate. The candidate needs to be in a trusted and knowledgeable position in Mexico to work with partners and potential future signatories to the voluntary agreement and other key stakeholders to help accelerate its effectiveness in delivering food waste reductions in the country.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Programme Delivery
Champion and drive the implementation of WRAPs vision and ambition for food waste reduction in Mexico through the Food Waste Voluntary Agreement (Pacto por la Comida).
Develop and deliver a comprehensive national plan with measurable goals milestones and reporting mechanisms.
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the impact of these plans and activities.
Identify strategic opportunities for expansion of WRAPs impact in Mexico and the wider Latin American region.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Management
Build and nurture strong relationships with WRAPs in-country partners and other key stakeholders (private sector actors like FMCG companies retailers food producers government agencies and NGOs) to drive collaborative action and implement a programme of work designed to reduce food waste across the food value chain.
Represent WRAP in external meetings and events in Mexico positioning WRAP as a key actor tackling food waste in Mexico..
Support fundraising communication and advocacy efforts to enable WRAP to design and attract funding for a continuing deepening and broadening of our ongoing programme of interventions in the country and region.
Technical Expertise and Impact Monitoring
Collaborate with WRAPs global specialists to inform programme decisions and demonstrate measurable impact.
Oversee data collection monitoring and reporting according to WRAPs global evaluation framework.
Produce and contribute to progress reviews annual reports and presentations for partners funders and WRAPs teams.
Identify key insights and lessons learned to inform regional scale-up and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Coordination and Communication
Facilitate clear consistent and proactive communication between WRAP project and programme management teams and the in-country partner including regular project reviews progress meetings and strategic planning sessions.
Ensure alignment on deliverables budgets and project milestones.
Requirements and competencies to work with us
Were looking for a strategic impact-driven professional with strong experience in food supply chains ideally within or in close collaboration with FMCG businesses. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of program or project delivery in complex multi-stakeholder settings with the ability to engage industry government and civil society partners to drive action on food waste and food systems transformation
Experience
Minimum 7 years of professional experience in sustainability food systems circular economy or programme delivery roles.
Proven experience working in the food sector with or within FMCG companies food retailers or supply chain networks.
Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder projects in Latin America preferably with international NGOs UN agencies or corporate sustainability teams.
Demonstrated ability to deliver evidence-based interventions manage complex programmes including planning budgeting and monitoring and work across sectors to implement systems-level change.
Knowledge and Skills
Deep understanding and practical knowledge of food supply chains food loss and waste drivers and sustainability challenges in the Mexican or broader Latin American context.
Skilled in designing implementing and evaluating impact-driven interventions using data and evidence.
Familiarity with voluntary agreements cross-sector partnerships and public-private coalitions.
Familiarity with impact monitoring tools logical frameworks and KPI development.
Proficiency in Spanish (native) and English (advanced).
