Job Description:
We are seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to join our team and support the operation of a secure reliable and highly available cloud managed hosting and developer platform.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to translate business and development requirements into automated platform solutions. This role involves close collaboration with Security and Compliance teams as well as Platform Engineers to implement secure infrastructure features configurations and automation that enable a dynamic platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for development teams.
The candidate should have strong expertise in cloud technologies network security containers Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines along with excellent communication skills. This role requires the ability to work independently while leading others and collaborating across multiple development teams in an agile environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Operate and support a secure reliable and highly available cloud and developer platform
Translate business and development team requirements into automated platform solutions
Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to implement secure infrastructure configurations and features
Work with Platform Engineers to design and maintain scalable platform services
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation
Support containerized and Kubernetes-based production environments
Lead and support platform initiatives while collaborating across development teams

Top 3 Must-Have Critical / Hard Skills
7 years of experience with DevOps for containerized and Kubernetes production systems
4 years of experience with AWS CI/CD and developer workflow automation tools such as GitHub Actions GitLab CI or AWS CodeStar along with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform AWS CDK or AWS CloudFormation)
3 years of experience with Kubernetes deployment and GitOps tooling (Helm Flux or Argo CD) and cloud and network security architecture including least privilege IAM secrets management RBAC and boundary protection

Additional Experience
Experience with AWS services including EC2 S3 SQS SNS RDS DynamoDB KMS SSM ELB VPC and Route53
Experience with AWS Organizations AWS Control Tower or AWS Landing Zone Accelerator
Experience leading and mentoring junior Software or DevOps Engineers

Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Istio Kyverno Prometheus Grafana or Keycloak
Experience with vulnerability management and static and dynamic code analysis
Experience with hardened AMIs and container images including DoD STIGs and CIS Benchmarks
Experience with SIEMs audit and logging
Experience with APM tools such as Datadog New Relic or Splunk
Experience troubleshooting platform application deployments and configurations
