About the Business
Castletown Bakers Delight is a well-established retail bakery producing a wide range of freshly baked artisan breads and bakery products daily. We pride ourselves on traditional baking methods quality ingredients and consistent customer service.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Baker to join our production team on a full-time basis.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing mixing and baking doughs and batters for breads rolls and bakery products from scratch
- Measuring weighing and mixing ingredients according to established recipes and production schedules
- Operating commercial baking equipment including mixers ovens provers and bench equipment
- Hand-shaping moulding proving and finishing bakery products
- Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure product consistency and quality
- Decorating and finishing baked products where required
- Ensuring food safety hygiene and WHS standards are maintained at all times
- Managing daily production schedules to meet retail demand
- Minimising waste and maintaining stock control of baking ingredients
- Cleaning and maintaining bakery equipment and work areas
Requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Relevant qualification in Baking or Patisserie (Certificate III or equivalent) or
Minimum 3 years of relevant full-time baking experience - Strong knowledge of dough fermentation bread production and baking processes
- Ability to work early morning shifts and in a fast-paced production environment
- High attention to detail and consistency
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Employment Conditions
- Full-time position (minimum 38 hours per week)
- Rostered shifts including early mornings weekends and public holidays as required
- Ongoing employment subject to performance and business requirements
