Colchester School District is seeking a part-time Long-Term Substitute Preschool Teacher (afternoons only 15 hours per week 4 days per week) This position will begin January 8 2026 and continue through February 20 2026.
Qualifications:- Current VT teacher license with an early childhood endorsement.
- Demonstrated understanding and applications of best practices in teaching and learning.
- Skills in collaborative problem solving critical thinking and teamwork.
- Knowledge of Vermont Framework of Standards and the ability to create interdisciplinary lessons/units.
Duties:- Instruct and guide students according to their developmental needs and in accordance with district curricula.
- Create a classroom environment and climate which is open flexible and conducive to learning.
- Understand and demonstrate best practices in teaching and learning as well as current subject matter expertise.
- Maintain appropriate student records and program documentation.
- Communicate effectively with parents students and peers.
- Implement district policies; follow school practices/procedures.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities as assigned.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development.
- Model professional behavior at all times.
- Collaborate with other school and district staff members to achieve the districts mission and schools annual goals.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal or designee.
