This role is responsible for managing trade compliance and logistics operations across the region with a primary focus on import and export activities. The successful candidate will act as the regional subject matter expert on customs regulations ensuring goods move efficiently and compliantly across addition to overseeing import/export audits and classification the role includes hands-on coordination with brokers freight forwarders and internal stakeholders to resolve trade-related issues and support day-to-day logistics execution.
Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:
- Lead a team of HTS Analysts ensuring systems and parts are correctly classified.
- Serve as the first point of contact for trade compliance issues in the region.
- Monitor and advise on import/export regulations including tariffs trade agreements incoterms rules of origin HS classification and valuation.
- Perform internal audits and support external audits by customs or other regulatory bodies.
- Oversee tariff reconciliation and any post-audit actions
- Identify compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with customs brokers freight forwarders and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant flow of goods.
- Proactively resolve customs or transportation-related queries.
- Monitor and report on logistics KPIs and audit outcomes to support strategic planning.
- Provide training or guidance to internal stakeholders on customs requirements and best practices.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of trade compliance procedures and documentation.
- As part of the Global Logistics and Trade Compliance organization this individual will provide support in region as a point of contact for other group requirements as may arise.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years experience in customs brokerage trade compliance or international trade.
- Solid knowledge of Regional customs regulations import/export procedures and HTS classification.
- Strong commercial awareness
- Experience working with Regional Customs Authorities and other relevant authorities.
- Experience in the machinery or manufacturing sector is desirable but not essential.
