Job Summary

Scope of Position

The Project Manager leads and manages process and tools automation projects that support our relentless pursuit of efficiency and operational excellence across all product departments. This role constantly drives efficiency productivity profitability and growth by identifying innovative solutions for processes and systems.

Key Deliverables

  • Proactively monitor the following key metrics to achieve the expected results:
  • Operational Performance DBO
    • Drive Speed through Active Process Management
      • Gross & Net Performance Daily reporting
      • Proactive Performance Review by Customer and Agent
  • Shipments per Person - Improve 10% yearly.
  • Revenue Expense: improve 0.20 growth yearly.
  • District Excellence - Improve prior years results.

General responsibilities:

  • Ensure alignment with Corridor initiatives and deployments.
  • Communicate with department Managers and Management to work on challenges.
  • Ensure strong knowledge and proper use of all Expeditor systems and tools.
  • Efficient management and coordination along with product Managers all departments projects and initiatives (CHB DST including warehouse TCS and Air/Ocean).
  • Build healthy cross-functional relationships. Promote team spirit cohesiveness and effective collaborations with all staff members.
  • Contributes to execute the operations departments TBP goals and aggressively drive progress towards end results.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Branch Manager and Product Managers to communicate progress
  • Complete 52-hour training per year (4.33 per month) and  mandatory training timely.
  • Own self-development and execute on personal development goals.

Project management responsibilities:

  • Ensure application of the Fundamentals of Business Process and focus on elimination of waste based on exception data.
  • Collaborate with CHQ and Business Operations in the implementation of processes systems and tools and global resources.
  • Contribute to a global operational standard driving the pursuit of a Best-in-Class operation.
  • Identify opportunities analyze root cause drive efficiencies in the optimization of operational processes systems and tools and implement sustainable solutions (e.g. dashboards monitors reports etc.)
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to implement best practices of tools and process enhancements that can be replicated for different customers.  
  • Conduct regular meetings with project stakeholders operations teams as needed.
  • Continuously improve the productivity and quality of the service to our customers through data analysis and technology solutions.
  • Monitor efficiency of existing tools and systems evaluate results to identify any potential discrepancy.
  • Prioritize problem areas within the product departments through communication with operational staff and via observation process mapping timing studies and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Manage projects execution from initiation to implementation ensure adherence to project scope schedule progress of development tools and validation of efficiencies.
  • Work alongside with IS Solutions (when applicable) to ensure the proper automation and deployment.  Ensure alignment with our core systems.
  • Develop optimum efficient processes without sacrificing compliance oversight or controls.
  • Escalate necessary issues to Branch Manager and Product Managers.

Qualifications :

To be the most effective in this position the ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Education: Degree (preferred): Bachelors degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in Logistics and / or Project Management.
  • Experience in successfully leading complex projects efficiency tools development and/or operational process enhancements required.
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred or leading complex project.
  • Exhibit a leadership style that empowers coaches mentors fosters a cohesive team environment.
  • Customer Satisfaction oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills ability to communicate at all levels written and oral.
  • Experience in creating/designing and delivering customer facing presentations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work productively both individually and in team environment.
  • Strong project management skills including planning risk management.
  • Process oriented problem solving and business analytical skills.
  • Understanding of Process Fundamentals
  • Business analytical skills proficient with data analysis.
  • Proven ability to document business process flows.
  • Experience in developing and implementation of internal and external visibility tools.
  • Ability to complete work within standard procedures guidelines and office policies
  • Self-driven personality and good business sense are expected
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of all Microsoft Office.
  • English and Spanish fluency
