  1. Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current award year
  2. Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
  3. Must be enrolled in at least half-time. (6 units undergraduate; 3units graduate) per semester
  4. Must have a federal need of at least $2000
  5. Submit all requested financial aid documentation from your To-Do-List by the due date
  6. Must have an official award notification from the Financial Aid Office
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen eligible non-citizen or permanent resident

Job Summary:

This position is designed to provide administrative support to the Risk Management and EHS teams. The student assistant will assist with various tasks such as answering phones managing paperwork and supporting special projects to ensure the smooth
operation of the department.

Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision duties include but not limited to:
- Risk Management and EHS support: Assist with team projects
- Administrative tasks: Handle filing scanning copying data entry etc
- Provide general office support: phones greet visitors office organization.
- Transportation: Obtain defensive driving certification for golf cart operation.
- Other Job-Related Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty staff and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Required Qualifications:

  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior administrative or office experience.
- Knowledge of risk management or environmental health and safety practices
- Proficient in using standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

License / Certification:

Valid Drivers License is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: (Determined by Federal Work Study).

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

Position Information:

Work status: Part-Time Temporary Seasonal

Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am 5:00 pm).

Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).

Conditions of Employment

Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment purposes. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check when required may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Possession of a valid Drivers License may be required. Employees in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms possession of a valid drivers license and reflects driving record.
