Responsibilities

  • Load and unload heavy materials
  • Measure cut and assist with formwork construction alongside carpenters and concrete masons
  • Operating jack hammers bush hammers pressure washers and chippers
  • Driving the work truck to run errands pick up and drop off materials tools etc.
  • Work around equipment other workers and in the active construction zones
  • Perform tasks in confined spaces and fast-paced environments while maintaining situational awareness
  • Identify existing and potential hazards by completing field-level pre-job hazard assessments
  • Ensure tasks are completed safely efficiently and on schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3 years of Carpenter helper experience on major infrastructure projects
  • Physically fit and able to walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. consistently during a 10-hour day
  • Knowledgeable and competent with carpenter hand and power tools
  • Experience with bush and jack hammering operations
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions on uneven or muddy grounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Mandatory valid full Class 5 drivers license with a clean 3-year driving record
  • CSTS-2020 Confined Space & Monitor WHMIS 2015 (training provided if needed)

Work Conditions

  • Monday to Friday 10 hours per day with occasional overtime required on weekends
  • Work in all weather conditions year-round and willing to lend a hand where needed on the project
