Responsibilities
- Load and unload heavy materials
- Measure cut and assist with formwork construction alongside carpenters and concrete masons
- Operating jack hammers bush hammers pressure washers and chippers
- Driving the work truck to run errands pick up and drop off materials tools etc.
- Work around equipment other workers and in the active construction zones
- Perform tasks in confined spaces and fast-paced environments while maintaining situational awareness
- Identify existing and potential hazards by completing field-level pre-job hazard assessments
- Ensure tasks are completed safely efficiently and on schedule
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3 years of Carpenter helper experience on major infrastructure projects
- Physically fit and able to walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. consistently during a 10-hour day
- Knowledgeable and competent with carpenter hand and power tools
- Experience with bush and jack hammering operations
- Ability to work in all weather conditions on uneven or muddy grounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Mandatory valid full Class 5 drivers license with a clean 3-year driving record
- CSTS-2020 Confined Space & Monitor WHMIS 2015 (training provided if needed)
Work Conditions
- Monday to Friday 10 hours per day with occasional overtime required on weekends
- Work in all weather conditions year-round and willing to lend a hand where needed on the project
