Job Summary

We have a rare opportunity to join us within a Senior Leadership role heading our Performance & Value function. As our Uru Mahi Wāriu Head of Performance & Value you will lead guide and coach a team to support our business with decision making planning budgeting forecasting analysis procurement and benefit delivery.

It is a critical role that ensures we are delivering against our strategic pillars and works closely with our Z Executive Team and Ampol colleagues.

If you have strong financial experience focusing on performance have worked in complex commercial environments enjoy developing a team and are looking for a new opportunity where you can provide real input into directions and choices lets kōrero!

You will have the opportunity to

  • Head a team that provides thought leadership across decision making (including investment decisions business activity decisions) planning (including annual budgets 5 year planning delivery of strategy) performance management (including monthly results analysis and forecasting tracking of benefit delivery for initiatives and procurement while modelling the Ampol Group leadership behaviours and values
  • Provide insights that enables the Z Leadership Team (ZLT) and their teams to fulfil their management and assurance roles
  • Lead annual/quarterly planning and monthly forecasting and budgeting demonstrating continuous improvement in the process
  • Partner with the ZLT to develop and implement the strategies and plans to radically transform the economic efficiency at Z as part of the wider productivity commitment
  • Provide thought leadership on how we deliver value at Z and weave this into various interactions include Enterprise group forums inductions for new starters at Z including graduates and interns and other ad hoc opportunities to share and build the knowledge and capability of how we generate value at Z. Ultimately this will all support improved financial performance and value delivery for Z and develop our analysis planning and performance management capability to drive a more productive core business

Qualifications :

What youll bring to Z

  • Demonstrated experience of performance management planning financial analysis budgeting and investment decision support skills and experience within a complex commercial environment
  • Financial metrics knowledge including return on average capital employed (ROACE) specific investment metrics including payback and internal rate of return
  • Financial modelling knowledge including net present value of discounted cashflows calculations (NPV) and experience identifying critical assumptions risks and sensitivities so you can support the team to ensure the most important areas are thoroughly understood
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with leadership teams and/or senior executives to advise and influence decision making
  • Strong interpersonal skills including leading with influence collaborating with colleagues and navigating any conflicts or challenging situations constructively
  • The ability to lead coach and develop a team resulting in an effective and high performing team
  • Enterprise leadership including spotting opportunities where support could be provided by P&V in thought leadership or assistance

The base salary range for this role is $200000 to $240000 per annum plus 20% STI based on company and individual performance a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
