Middle School Art Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY: The Teacher will provide guidance and instructional experiences that are culturally academically and developmentally appropriate for each student assigned to that Duties and Responsibilities:Communicate accurately and effectively in the content area and maintain a professional rapport with feedback from and communicate with students in a manner which enhances student learning and understanding. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources for each area the development of student involvement responsibility and critical thinking the classroom to ensure the best use of instructional an atmosphere conducive to learning and Board of Trustees policies and administrative rules and accurate and up-to-date information to students in a way that enhances student learning. Manage time with administration parents and a positive atmosphere and arrange the physical environment of the classroom for optimum for instruction and show evidence of concern for students wellbeing and positive precautions to protect equipment materials and accurate and complete records as required by the school and reports progress or lack thereof to parents in a timely adequate preparations for a and implement appropriate classroom management strategies while maintaining high expectations for student cooperation between student involvement in appropriate and apply appropriate conflict resolution public relations appropriate techniques strategies and materials to achieve the desired instructional the curriculum to meet the needs of individual current technology for instruction and management purposes if appropriate/approved for tribal diagnostic data to improve instructional use and interpret evaluation to parents students administration and peers outside the school day if needed. Spend time beyond the school day grading and recording papers planning instruction suspected child abuse and for students on field as a good role model within the context of the supervise educational assistants practicum students student teachers and high school vocational lab and use community and professional and apply traditional learning other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Skills and Abilities Required:Excellent Microsoft Word Excel & PowerPoint skills;Organization time management and task prioritization skills;Ability to communicate respectfully clearly and concisely in person by telephone and though written forms (e.g. paper email text social media);High level of integrity commitment and work ethic;Proficient word processing email spreadsheets and cloud computing (Google suite) skillsOrganization time management task prioritization skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrate problem solving skillsAbility to adapt to a fast paced environmentAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students faculty and staff and community in a variety of roles and to work effectively under to use computers specialized software and/or other electronic equipment to fulfill job Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in education or related fieldValid NM Teaching License from the State of NM Public Education DepartmentExperience working with Native American students possess a valid NM Drivers complete and successfully pass a complete background investigation including FBI fingerprint Demands: While performing the duties of this position; sitting standing lifting carrying (up to 30 lbs.) reaching squatting kneeling and moving light furniture may be required. Must be able to work within various degrees of noise temperature and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision. Have manual and finger dexterity. Occasionally required to reach above shoulder level repetitive hand and arm motions; Must be able to see read and record small numbers. May require traveling to various communities to meet with students parents guardians tribal social services and other service providers.
