We are delighted to announce an opportunity for a Compliance Specialist and are now inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates.

Role Purpose

The Compliance Specialist supports the Chief Data Protection and European Compliance Officer (CDPECO) in delivering the compliance programme including data protection activities across BSHS. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise within a small high-performing team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
The post holder will also help implement compliance changes linked to BSHSs integration with Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) in the United States working with colleagues across the organisation to embed the Compliance Programme into existing systems operations and initiatives.

Candidate Criteria:

Qualifications
A third-level qualification in Information Governance Data Protection or a closely related discipline or working towards such a qualification.
Professional Certificate in Data Protection (Desirable)

Experience
2-3 years experience interpreting and implementing data protection legislation or working in a compliance role.
Working knowledge and understanding of data protection issues within a healthcare environment (Desirable)

Skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Excellent IT proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
Self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative.
Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
