SUMMARY
Contribute to a positive Sundance experience by providing a sincere professional and friendly greeting of Owl Bar guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide professional presence at the front door of the Owl Bar.
Warmly greet all Owl Bar patrons at the front door of The Owl Bar and check guests identification according to state law.
Demonstrate knowledge of Owl Bar and Sundance history when educating guests.
Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises.
Inform guests of live music when available.
Collect cover charges makes correct change and handles a bank.
Assist Owl Bar and boardwalk guests with resort information and directions.
Maintain a neat and organized entrance to Owl Bar.
Manage crowd control when no seating is available.
Ensure maximum guest occupancy is not exceeded.
Ensure guests do not enter establishment with alcohol.
Ensure guests do not leave establishment with open alcoholic beverages in hand.
Knowledge and compliance of Utah liquor laws.
Assist Owl Bar staff with side-work as needed including: Rolling silverware and folding napkins for servers and helping bar staff close down the bar.
Support the recycling program.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position for example: minimize waste recycle conserve energy purchase and use sustainable products educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic support vendors with similar environmental ethic decrease pollution levels minimize the use of toxic chemicals restore wild life habitats car-pool with colleagues and coworkers to minimize carbon emissions. All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events.
DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guests impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. As representatives of Sundance all employees including mangers are expected to be in compliance with the Dress Code determined for his/her department as defined in the job description or follow the standards below.
In order to best promote a positive professional image that meets Sundance guests expectations employees are required to dress in a professional conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:
All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
Clothing must be unwrinkled clean and in good condition (no rips tears or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Blue jeans worn with a black belt
Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.
A tailored fit is required of all clothing.
Tank tops halter tops tube tops and spaghetti straps are prohibited.
Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.
Bare midriffs are prohibited.
Proper footwear for your department is required.
Dress sandals are permitted for females.
Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.
Black socks and black non-slip shoes are required.
Owl Bar t-shirt must be in good condition.
Sundance logo baseball caps must be in good condition
Hair must be cleaned and combed. Long hair must be worn off the face.
No jewelry except for stud earrings and a wedding band.
Clean shaven or trimmed beard for men no stubble
Pants/shirts must be free of stains frays or holes
Pants/shirts must be clean and pressed
Employees must be showered with clean teeth fresh breath clean hands and nails

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS
Must possess or obtain a valid alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public. Must have great communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Must have general math skills and be able to calculate customers change.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
