Job Responsibilities - Communicates goalsobjectivespoliciesand proceduresin accordance withapplicable tribal federal state and local lawsrulesand regulations.
- Leadmentorand develop a high-performing underwriting team fostering a culture of excellencetrustand collaboration.
- Ensure team members have sufficient knowledge and skill to analyze researchdetermineriskestablishpremiumratesand promote products.
- Develop implement andmaintainunderwriting policies and procedures in line with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Providecritical underwriting insights influencing coveragepricingand guidelines.
- Occasionally underwrite complex accounts in alignment with company strategy guidelines and reinsurance considerations escalating asappropriate tothe Chief Operations Officer.
- Provides assistance tounderwriters on more complex applications/submissions.
- Ensure that staff provide prompt and courteous service in alignment with departmental standards of providing exceptional customer service.
- Provides reports to the Leadership Teamregardingthe status and developments in the companys portfolio.
- Partner closely with Business Development Risk Control and Product Development toidentifyclient needs and craft underwriting solutions that differentiate the company in the marketplace.
- Representscompanyin meetings with potential clients and trade association meetings to promote products and business lines as necessary.
- Hosts regular staff meetings to ensure communication between personnel and departmental activities.
- Promote knowledge transfer through client interactions team training and external engagements.
- Achieves financialobjectivesby preparing and administering annual budget and by presenting and justifying budget recommendations.
- Demonstrate success in leading innovative solutions that prioritize customer value.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all privileged information.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices by attending seminars workshops and conferencesparticipatingin professional networks and communities and engaging withvendorand agency representatives.
- Participates in cross-functional team process improvement projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in finance Accounting Business Administration or related field and a minimum ofseven(7) years commercial P&C underwriting insurance experience.
- Minimum of three (3)yearsmanagerial experience.
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation preferred.
- Valid drivers license.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation no felony theft or fraud convictions
Additional Eligibility Requirements
- New employees must complete theAssociate in Insurance(AINS) designation within six months from the end of the 90-day evaluation period to be eligible for advancement and incentive compensation.
- For continued employment employees must complete an elective course and six hours of professional development within 12 months after the end of the 90-day evaluation period.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of applicable federal state tribal and local laws regulations and requirements.
- Knowledge of property and casualty risk assessment and underwriting policies and regulations specific to property fleet autoliabilityand workers compensation.
