Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) School-Based 1:1 Support
Location: Aldie VA 20105
Contract Duration: 29 Weeks
Schedule: MondayFriday 8:50 AM 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $38$40/hr
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide dedicated 1:1 medical support for a high school student in a school-based setting. The student requires comprehensive clinical and personal care including seizure monitoring mobility assistance feeding support and ADL assistance. This role is well-suited for an LPN with experience in pediatrics special needs populations or school nursing.
Responsibilities
Provide continuous seizure monitoring recognizing early signs and responding promptly.
Administer seizure first aid and seizure rescue medications per the students care plan.
Assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including hygiene toileting dressing and mobility.
Perform assisted oral feeding for a student who pockets food and is at high risk for choking.
Safely support transfers including participating in two-person lifts as required.
Monitor and assist a non-verbal wheelchair-dependent student throughout the school day.
Document daily health observations interventions and changes in condition.
Collaborate with school staff parents and healthcare providers to ensure consistent safe care.
Maintain a safe supportive environment that promotes comfort dignity and student engagement.
No bus riding required.
Requirements
Active LPN license in the state of Virginia.
Experience with seizure disorders and administration of rescue medications preferred.
Ability to perform safe lifting including two-person lift techniques.
Experience with non-verbal or medically fragile students is a plus.
Strong communication observation and caregiving skills.
Current CPR/BLS certification required.
