Description
NASL is seeking a Production Lead who will be responsible for coordinating daily production activities ensuring safety quality and efficiency across the manufacturing floor. This role acts as the first point of contact for operators supports troubleshooting and ensures adherence to schedules and company standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Assign tasks and monitor progress for production team members.
- Ensure adherence to daily production schedules and priorities.
- Act as liaison between operators and supervisors for communication and issue resolution.
- Enforce safety protocols (PPE machine guarding LOTO).
- Conduct daily safety checks and report hazards immediately.
- Lead and administer 5S program.
- Monitor product quality and verify compliance with specifications through routine testing.
- Address defects promptly and assist with root-cause analysis.
- Train team members on quality standards and inspection and recording procedures.
- Ensure machines are set up correctly and perform initial inspections.
- Assist with minor troubleshooting and escalate major issues to maintenance engineering or other departments.
- Verify proper use of tools and validation stations.
- Track production output downtime and scrap rates.
- Complete shift reports and communicate key metrics to management.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP or production tracking systems.
- Mentor new hires and cross-train team members.
- Support skill development and promote continuous improvement culture.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing or production.
- Strong understanding of safety and quality standards.
- Ability to read blueprints work instructions and basic measurements.
- Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. Epicor) preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean 5S or continuous improvement principles preferred.
- Ability to uphold company Core Values of Integrity Solutions Service and Quality as part of the NASL Team.
