About the role
Deliver high-quality patient care by performing all nuclear medicine procedures and therapy treatments under general supervision in accordance with EPA Radiation Licence guidelines including dose preparation administration and patient monitoring post-treatment.
Provide operational and strategic support to the department assisting the Chief MRS and Section Manager in achieving optimal service delivery and contributing to the planning and management of resources patient throughput and departmental performance.
Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement compliance with professional standards and evidence-based practice by participating in research training and professional development activities for MRS staff and students.
Build strong collaborative relationships within the hospital across St Vincents Health Australia and externally with universities professional bodies and other key stakeholders.
Ensure effective leadership mentoring and professional oversight by guiding junior MRS staff modelling appropriate behaviours and fostering open communication within the department.
Support organisational compliance and development by adhering to SVHA and SVHS policies maintaining accurate and confidential patient records and engaging in succession planning professional development and initiatives to improve departmental service delivery.
About you
Hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation Science Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualifications recognised by the Medical Radiation Practice Board (MRPB).
Current NSW EPA radiation licence under the Radiation Control Act 1990 and current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Postgraduate diploma or higher qualification allied to your area of expertise including (but not limited to) ultrasound CT QA management education research or IT.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team with proven aptitude in complex problem solving and decision making both individually and as part of a team.
Proven high-level communication interpersonal and decision-making skills with experience in applying quality improvement industrial risk management and WH&S principles.
Previous clinical experience within Nuclear Medicine with demonstrated commitment to best practice customer/patient services continuing education and the ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve organisational outcomes.
