The Accounts Payable Manager should be mature poised and articulate as the position will engage in frequent contact with Association and Foundation staff members vendors and service providers. This position must be well organized attentive to detail comfortable working with numbers and able to work well both independently and in a team environment to meet deadlines and goals. A part-time position AP support specialist will report to the Accounts Payable Manager. The goal for this position is to contribute to the efficient operation and success of the department by providing quality customer vendor and employee assistance and accurate and timely processing of payments. This is a non-exempt position and has a salary range of $57000-$71350. The position reports to the Director Investment Reporting and Special Projects.
This position is based in historic Annapolis at our current offices located next to the beautiful grounds of the U.S. Naval 2023 the staff of the Alumni Association & Foundation moved into the new Fluegel Alumni Center which was built on the banks of College Creek overlooking the Naval Academy and downtown Annapolis.

Qualifications
- A 2-year degree in accounting and previous work experience as an accountant
- Well versed in accounting principles with at least 1 year of not-for-profit accounting experience
- Good computer knowledge and skills and advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong verbal and communication skills a must
- Good financial and analytical skills
- Good organizational and time management abilities
- Keen eye for detail and an aptitude for problem solving
- Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge/NXT and Concur a plus
- Experience managing preparing and processing 1099 form for vendors
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process timely and accurate entries in the accounting software system
- Update and manage assigned general ledger and sub-ledger accounts financial data and financial systems as assigned
- Review expenses reports and calculations as assigned
- Reconcile general ledger accounts activity and statements
- Prepare correcting or reclassifying journal entries when necessary
- Responsibility for accurate input of Accounts Payable
- Prepare schedules and assist management prepare for the annual audit
- Serve as the technical expert in their assigned areas with a focus on the invoice and expense systems
- Provide support and advice to team members management in their assigned areas
- Perform or assist with other duties or accounting projects as assigned
