Job Summary

This posting is for candidates who would like to be considered for any and all STIP Substitute openings at OUSD. School Site Based Substitute

A participant in the Substitute Teacher Incentive Plan (STIP) is a substitute teacher who serves at a specific school site every day for the entire period of the STIP contract and is required to report daily to an assignment of any grade level or subject area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires at minimum a 30 day Substitute Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
Candidates can qualify to apply for this Permit if they have a Bachelors degree

Important InformationRegarding the Basic Skills Requirement:

On June 29 2024 Governor Gavin Newsomsigned a budget trailer bill SB 153 (Chap. 38 Statutes of 2024) that allows candidates to use their bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (IHE) as demonstration of the basic skills requirementeffective immediately.PSA 24-07:outlines theBachelors Degree froma regionally accredited institution of higher education (IHE) as demonstration of the Basic Skills Requirement.
If your circumstances indicate you need this exam you may already meet CBEST/Basic Skills through your SAT ACT coursework or another qualifying exam.Please check here for Basic Skills Requirement informationand herefor information about the CBEST exam.

Requirements:

Be prepared to work every instructional day as assigned on a day-to-day or long-term basis
Sign a temporary contract designed specifically for this purpose
Participate in district and/or school site in-services as assigned
Two current professional references including from a Supervisor
