The Associate Director Future Student Recruitment sits within the Marketing & Digital Experience portfolio at UNSW a team who is tasked with positioning the university as the top choice for local and international students as well as enhancing UNSWs global brand reputation by creating sharper brand distinctiveness and amplifying UNSWs globally renowned expertise.

As the Associate Director Future Student Recruitment you will lead the development and implementation of University plans related to domestic and international student recruitment both centrally and specific to the needs of each faculty including all existing and new cohorts and markets across the education portfolio ensuring achievement of annual student load plan targets and long-term teaching revenue growth for the institution.

The role is accountable for achieving the required volume and quality of applications from local and international students both overall and by Faculty with responsibility for end-to-end recruitment and conversion of prospective students across all program levels and geographies including all existing and new cohorts and markets across the education portfolio. The role is also responsible for maintaining strong senior level faculty relationships driving innovation securing buy-in and ultimately successful adoption and implementation of new recruitment initiatives designed to ensure the University continues to attract students of the highest potential from across Australia and international markets in an increasingly competitive environment.

Who you are:

We are looking for someone who can lead the vision and execution of UNSWs domestic and international recruitment strategy powering student growth elevating our global brand and ensuring every faculty attracts top-tier students from across Australia and the world.

You will also need to have:

  • Relevant tertiary education with extensive experience in commercial sales excellence strategic channel development sales and development consulting or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education training and experience.
  • Strong understanding of strategic and political issues within the Higher Education sector.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing student recruitment strategies within an audience-centric KPI-driven commercial context.
  • Proven leadership in driving digital-first transformation and change across recruitment and sales including the strategic implementation of lead management frameworks marketing automation and CRM optimisation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading major organisational change and cultural transformation initiatives with a proven ability to align teams around strategic priorities embed new ways of working and foster a culture of innovation agility and accountability.
  • Extensive experience in driving sales excellence and enablement within complex multi-channel and multi-market recruitment and commercial environments.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing sales enablement strategies including training programs performance frameworks and digital tools that empower teams to optimise lead conversion enhance productivity and deliver against targets.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills with experience working with senior stakeholders across diverse cultural contexts.
  • Ability to apply judgement creativity and flexibility to generate new and innovative ideas and approaches and to solve complex problems.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
