Stabil Drill is currently seeking a Full-Time CNC Machinist to join our team in Houston TX (on-site). Business location is 6039 Thomas Road Houston TX 77041
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to operate and maintain a CNC lathe or mill with little or no supervision to produce a good quality product in a timely fashion as to satisfy demand.
- Starts machine to allow it to go through the startup/warm up procedure.
- Loads computerized machine control media as needed.
- Load parts or materials with lifting equipment selects aligns and secures chuck jaws cutting tools attachments accessories on machine.
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed feed coolant flow and depth and angle of cuts or enters commands to retrieve input or edit computerized machine control media.
- Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media or replaces tools as required. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
- Operate quality assurance measurement instruments: calipers and micrometers.
- Does machine cleaning and minor maintenance.
- Is aware of and helps maintain a safe work area and conditions and makes the safety coordinator aware of any unsafe situations.
- Ensure full awareness of and compliance with the requirements of all relevant company/customer QHSE handbooks QHSE procedures and emergency procedures.
- Debur finished parts.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- 1st Shift hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of two to five yearsexperience in a related field preferred.
- Mazak lathe and Okuma lathe experience a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED) required.
- Equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
