Position Overview
The Director of Postpartum Services oversees the daily operations clinical quality and staffing of the Mother Baby units and Lactation Services. This role ensures a high standard of patient-centered care operational efficiency and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications
Education
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Preferred: Masters Degree
Experience
Clinical experience in Labor & Delivery Postpartum or Mother Baby required
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience (Supervisor or higher) within Womens Services
Experience overseeing large teams or departments preferred
Licensure & Certifications
Active RN License
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Strategic Leadership
Oversee efficient patient flow volume forecasting and admission/discharge planning
Manage financial stewardship including budgeting and resource allocation
Develop and implement policies procedures and strategies to ensure regulatory compliance
Clinical Quality
Advance patient safety and quality through evidence-based practices
Reduce variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency and outcomes
Monitor benchmarks and accreditations pursuing opportunities to earn clinical designations
People & Culture
Lead and develop high-performing teams with accountability and transparency
Promote strong collaboration with NICU Labor & Delivery Pediatrics and other departments
Drive initiatives to achieve exceptional patient experience results
