The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region is looking for a Right-of-Way (ROW) Agent 3 in our Property Acquisition Unit to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing:

The ROW section is the functional group expert on acquisitions to support highway aviation and public facility capitol projects. The ROW Agent 3 position serves as a lead Right-of-Way (ROW) Agent within the Acquisition and Relocation Unit and functions as the Project Agent for the departments most complex ROW projects. This role is primarily assigned to consultant-led projects but may also manage in-house project assignments. The ROW Agent 3 provides leadership in coordinating consultant activities and supports the development administration and oversight of professional service agreements for ROW services. The acquisition and relocation program is managed in accordance with the DOT&PF Alaska Right-of-Way Manual.

The Agent 3 is expected to apply advanced ROW knowledge exercise sound judgment in complex negotiations and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners. This position requires a high degree of independence accountability and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.

The working environment you can expect:

This position resides in the DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters building at 4111 Aviation Avenue in Anchorage Alaska. It is easily accessible by a paved multi-use path and bus routes 40 and 65. Located on the shore of the beautiful Lake Hood Seaplane Base near Ted Stevens International Airport. Office hours are flexible. As a side benefit you will have easy access to bike & walking trails around Lake Hood.

Professional experience in the acquisition management or disposal of public or commercial real property that included conducting or overseeing title examining surveying engineering appraisals negotiations with buyer or seller for acquisition or relocation performing eminent domain actions; or managing property in the preparation of land use permits agreements easements and acquisition and disposition documents.

Professional experience means work that is creative analytical evaluative and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the professions principles concepts theories and practices; and is performed with the power or right to decide or act according to ones own judgment.
