Overview
Warm Valley Health Clinic is seeking a dependable and service-oriented PRC Assistant to support daily operations within the Purchased/Referred Care Department. This role is essential in ensuring patients receive timely support accurate information and coordinated access to outside medical services. The PRC Assistant will interact with patients providers and external partners while helping maintain organized and efficient departmental processes.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Support & Communication
Answer and route incoming calls while providing clear respectful assistance.
Assist patients with questions related to PRC eligibility referral status required documentation and program processes.
Greet and assist patients who visit the department ensuring they are connected with appropriate staff.
Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and tribal policies.
Administrative & Clerical Duties
Process incoming and outgoing mail including sorting scanning and routing PRC-related documents.
Enter and update patient information in PRC systems or the EHR.
Prepare scan and upload referrals authorizations invoices and related documents.
Maintain organized files logs and tracking systems to support timely follow-up.
Program Support
Assist PRC staff with preparing patient packets authorizations and vendor communications.
Support claims and invoice processing by collecting and routing required documentation.
Monitor referral timelines and ensure necessary information is received.
Participate in team meetings trainings and quality improvement efforts.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
At least one (1) year of experience in administrative support customer service or a healthcare office setting.
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to learn and apply PRC program guidelines and eligibility requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
Ability to learn and use electronic health record systems.
Strong communication customer service and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a tribal health clinic or tribal health system.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology.
Previous PRC medical billing or referral coordination experience.
