DCAS/Facilities Management & Construction (FMC) manages operates and maintains 55 City-owned buildings throughout the five boroughs working to provide clean safe and energy efficient space for the tenants in these public buildings.
FMC is dedicated to both the daily maintenance of the public buildings managed by Building Services Fire & Life Safety and other critical field staff as well as to long-term renovation and rehabilitation projects which are managed by a dedicated staff of architects engineers and other professional technical experts. FMC also oversees the daily operations of all elevators across the DCAS public buildings portfolio.
Mechanical Maintenance and Operations - responsible for the preventive maintenance repair and operation of the installed mechanical systems in the DCAS portfolio. This includes heating ventilation and air conditioning equipment backup electrical generators fire suppression and domestic water supply.
DCAS/Facilities Management & Construction is looking for an Executive Director of Mechanical Maintenance & Operations that will report directly to the Assistant Commissioner of Facilities Operation and oversee 200 staff employees in 55 facilities maintained by DCAS.
Duties include but are not limited to:
-Oversee the HVAC day to day operations of all DCAS operated facilities including plant operations steam fitters controls and energy
- Oversee contracts pertaining to MMO operations
-Review Capital Project work initiated by DEM in DCAS facilities and manage same
-Review Capital Project work initiated via new needs in DCAS facilities by CTS
-Oversee the personnel needs of the unit
-Scheduling of plant personnel
-Oversee the regulatory mandated compliance filing for various city and state departments
-Meet regularly with DEM to ensure DCAS FM are in compliance with various energy local laws

Qualifications :
1. One year of full-time experience as Stationary Engineer in charge of a high pressure plant supervising at least three stationary engineers in the operation maintenance and adjustment of high-pressure boilers; and
2. A valid License for High Pressure Boiler Operating Engineer issued by the New York City Department of Buildings.
