Job Summary

POSITION PURPOSEThe Finance Coordinator serves as the primary party responsible for Accounts Payable for the District. The Finance Coordinator also assists the Facilities Manager as well as helping to manage the District Offices in FUNCTIONS Primary party responsible for Accounts Payable for the District including but not limited to:Reviews processes and pays all authorized timely entry of payables data to the financial accounting vendor file and responds to vendor inquiries regarding files of paid/unpaid invoices and open/closed purchase verifies and distributes checks and files warrants for approval by Director of Finance & Operations Superintendent of Schools and School CommitteeMaintain W-9 forms for all school district supporting information to assist in the reconciliation to expenditure questions from school information in response to ad hoc requests for payment and manage contracts associated with purchase turnover sheets and make bank deposits for cash and checks and file all 1099s for the the Facilities Manager with certain tasks including but not limited to:Reconcile invoices to purchase and/or maintain reports on expenditure with operation of the District Offices including but not limited to:Answer District Office door and screen CORI applications when district equipment such as postage machines and orders for items such as office supplies copy paper and distribute mail for District duties as assigned by the Director of Finance & ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. At least three (3) years of experience in an accounting business or finance organizational communication and customer service skills attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines experience in a school district or municipal environment helpful but not experience with accounting software helpful but not ABILITY AND SKILLSAbility to use word processing and spreadsheet tools as well as the ability to type proficiently. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other employees and vendors in both oral and written communication. Ability to use technology as a means to understand and analyze data that is associated with the content to read analyze and interpret documents such as procedure manuals safety rules operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write reports and job-related correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with administrators teaching and other to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to develop and interpret graphs tables and to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
