Were looking for someone who can help us share this incredible story with the world.

As Media Relations Manager in our newly restructured Communications team youll play a pivotal role in protecting building and enhancing Newham Councils reputation. Youll provide strategic communications advice to senior leaders manage proactive and reactive media relations and be the go-to person for handling complex high-profile issues.

This is a fast-paced challenging role in a borough that never stands still. Youll need:

  • Outstanding communication skills and a sharp news sense.
  • Excellent judgment under pressure and the ability to keep a cool head when it matters most.
  • A willingness to work flexibly this isnt a 9-to-5 job. Youll spend at least two days a week in our London office travel occasionally and take part in our out-of-hours emergency planning rota.
