Qualifications:
Associates degree (Preferred); Some college hours high school diploma or GED (Required)
Four years work experience in physical security infrastructure design implementation and management
Texas Drivers License
Knowledge of basic computer skills and be able to demonstrate good writing skills
Knowledge of access control system administration and program management
Knowledge of door station intercom solutions
Knowledge of access control hardware
Knowledge of digital security cameras
Knowledge of NVR media server solutions
Knowledge of NAS network available storage
Knowledge of managing media servers in a virtual environment and performing system updates
Knowledge of power management fiber and cabling for security cameras & access control
Knowledge of mobile handheld radios and repeaters
Primary Purpose:
Help maintain the physical security endpoint solutions for the school district.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Campus Liaison for access control and security camera software related issues.
- Responsible for end user training on access control and security camera software.
- Programming access control systems and card holder database administration.
- Support and implement door station intercom solutions.
- Monitoring status of access control and security camera systems.
- Responsible for troubleshooting access control and security cameras issues.
- Responsible for training technicians on all physical security systems and components.
- Responsible for removing and replacing access control hardware and security cameras.
- Responsible for security camera design and layout for existing re-models and new buildings.
- Responsible for adjusting focusing and replacing existing cameras.
- Responsible for RMA of access control and security cameras.
- Monitoring status of access control and security camera systems.
- Maintains inventory of essential parts and equipment to ensure repairs and installation in a timely manner.
- Support Campus mobile Handheld Radio Solutions and repeaters.
- Provide directions to vendors/contractors in relation to the physical security solutions and maintain and update specifications as needed.
- Analyze documentation and assist in communicating to management current operational status.
- Perform cost analysis and vendor comparison to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Laptop computer general hand tools network test equipment ladders and lifts.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district wide travel working from ladders and lifting heavy equipment (50 lbs.). On occasion working prolonged hours including weekends and holidays to facilitate repair and upgrade of campus infrastructure as needed. Will use small hand tools related to completing assigned duties.
