Position Summary:
The Department of Music at Florida Atlantic University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music to lead coordinate teach and support the teaching service and outreach efforts of the Bachelor of Music Education degree. This new hire will coordinate with educational partners including the College of Education area K-12 schools and the state Department of Education. Research and creative interests may include music education as aligned with the applicants area of expertise; a performance profile as an instrumentalist vocalist and/or conductor; and other areas of creative output where applicable.

of Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the Bachelor of Music Education Program including placements and supervision of practicum students and student teachers and the planning scheduling delivery assessment and continuous improvement of the music education curriculum.
- Teach courses in music education methods and pedagogy.
- Maintain visibility as a researcher and teacher at the state national and international levels.
- Coordinate with partners in the College of Education.
- Serve as liaison with K-12 schools community music partners and other external organizations (e.g. school districts professional associations etc.).
- Facilitate program reporting to the Florida Department of Education.
- Effectively recruit retain and mentor undergraduate students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Earned a PhD in Music Education
Demonstrated expertise in music education (either K-12 teaching higher education or both) including experience supervising or coordinating field experiences/practicum.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant teaching experience at the college level
Record of publication in the music education field
