Job Summary

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a masters level clinician who applies behavior analytic principles to improve socially significant behavior to a meaningful degree. Behavior analysts serve many roles in the public school setting. Behavior analysts develop and oversee programming based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and conduct initial and ongoing training for ABA among staff members. Rigorous data collection is ongoing and it is the behavior analysts job to monitor student progress and adjust programming as necessary. The RPS BCBA is responsible for completing intake assessments including screening of potential students who may be in need of services developing and revising individualized programs and behavior plan working with families in their homes as approved by the Director of Special Education and Pupil Services or designee. The RPS BCBA works directly with students to improve the lives of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Consultation is provided to teachers and support staff on an as-needed basis and as determined by the pre-referral process of ABA service to: Director of Special Education and Pupil ServicesJob Responsibilities: The BCBA is a district-wide educator. He/she will be knowledgeable of changes in trends laws rules or regulations in his/her area of expertise and provide reports to the Director of Special Education and Pupil Services or designee of his/her activities and as requested and reviews all reports with the Director or designee for approval prior to issuance. The BCBA in conjunction with the Director shall develop job goals pursuant to the Randolph Public Schools Educator Evaluation carrying out these responsibilities the BCBA shall: intake assessments screen referral to ABA services and environment checks in family homes as deemed appropriate by the Director of Special Education and Pupil Services or his/her ongoing documentation for all students as required by insurance implement and monitor progress of skills using behavior parents and staff about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) on a regular ongoing direct communication with parent via in-person meetings emails and phone IEP goals and objectives; timely completion of progress reports; implementation of district wide compliance expectations on all special education procedure and that all treatment methodologies are evidence based and reflect the most recent research staff meetings training workshops or Professional Development as direct services to students inclusive of Parent Education and Training in home-based settings as deemed necessary and approved by the Director of Special Education and Pupil Services or his/her required paperwork including but not limited to daily clinic notes and behavior tracking and create appropriate learning materials for with individual students classroom teachers (including classroom-wide management systems the creation of visual systems the implementation of data systems behavior plans curriculum modifications and accommodations and providing staff with resources tools and in-class modeling of techniques) and teaching BIPs (Behavior Intervention Plans) for individual students as needed and supports staff members in developing and implementing BIPs as needed until such time as positions performing ABA duties have been created and cooperates and collaborates with staff students and related activities assigned by direct supervisors and the special education administrators (building and district wide) and provide close collaboration with sub separate programs (assigned by SPED administrator) for ABA interventions and instructional practices for students with : Consistent with Randolph Education Association collective bargaining is included in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and is MTRS eligible.
