The role

We are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant who will work closely with the rest of the finance team to support the Foundation across all of its entities which will be an interesting and varied role. You will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for day-to-day purchasing and transactional accountancy support for the Foundation. The role will suit someone who has experience in bookkeeping and there is scope for the organisation to support study towards an accountancy qualification if desired. You will need to be conscientious and efficient and take pride in the accuracy of your work to give a good level of support to colleagues you are working with. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities. The role requires management of a high volume of administrative duties leveraging strong organisational and prioritisation skills to meet key deadlines and objectives. You should be a natural team player with strong communication skills who can deliver in a fast-paced environment and be able to talk to colleagues at all levels of the organisation. Responsibilities

  • Review and approve purchase orders and complete centralised purchasing of goods and services for all entities within the Foundations group liaising with colleagues as needed
  • Process all supplier invoices in Xero matching them against purchase orders and support colleagues with the invoice approval process
  • Process all credit card purchase transactions in Xero match them against purchase orders and reconcile all company credit cards
  • Support colleagues with travel bookings and process related invoices in Xero
  • Complete bank reconciliations of all expenditure
  • Manage the finance inboxes and internal ticketing platform
  • Support the finance team with processing and filing financial paperwork
  • Provide additional support where required while other members of the finance team are on holiday

Experience and personal attributes

  • Experience in bookkeeping in an accounts assistant role or similar
  • Literate in MS Office and Google Docs and competent in all other aspects of a digital working environment
  • Well-organised and able to prioritise tasks and manage expectations effectively
  • Able to work with precision and excellent attention to detail
  • Customer-focused with good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment and willing to lend support across all departments
  • Experience in using Xero accounting software is desirable
