Job Summary
- Position: Litigation Attorney (2 positions; Los Angeles HQ & Orange County office)
- Employer: Law firm specializing in medical malpractice litigation
- Responsible for all aspects of case management except presenting at trial/arbitration
- Collaborate with trial attorneys in discovery and investigation strategy
- Prepare and respond to pleadings and discovery
- Attend court appearances
- Prepare lawsuits for trial/arbitration and draft motions as requested
- Work closely with Claims Specialists for defense preparation and reporting
- Share knowledge and mentor other attorneys and staff
- Ensure cost-effective case management and defense
- Respond to Claims Department inquiries and provide timely updates
- Represent physicians at depositions in Depo-only cases
- Comply with Defense Attorney Guidelines
- Education: J.D. degree required
- Experience: 3 6 years of medical malpractice litigation experience
- Licensed to practice law in California
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to mentor and build enthusiasm among staff counsel
