Job Summary

Overview:
We are actively seeking Professional Engineer (PE) licensed candidates to join our Distribution Engineering teams across several PENG offices. Roles will be filled at the Engineer III (E3) or Engineer IV (E4) level based on experience technical proficiency and field exposure. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy applying technical knowledge to real-world power distribution challenges collaborating with utility partners and contributing to safe reliable grid operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design and analysis for electric power distribution systems including overhead and underground infrastructure.
  • Prepare engineering drawings calculations specifications and project documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during construction field verification and commissioning activities.
  • Partner with utility clients to ensure compliance with standards reliability goals and safety regulations.
  • Conduct site visits to assess field conditions and validate engineering designs.
  • Support project planning scheduling cost estimation and risk identification.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (any U.S. state; ability to obtain local licensure if required).
  • Ability to work in-office or hybrid depending on assigned PENG location needs.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a Power Concentration (other core engineering disciplines will be considered).
  • Power distribution design experience with a focus on electric utility systems.
  • Previous electric utility experience (distribution preferred).
  • Field experience assessing or implementing distribution or related electrical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated hands-on aptitude-mechanical automotive electronics DIY/outdoor activities or similar practical skills that support understanding of how equipment and systems function.
