Position Overview:
The VoIP Engineer / Deployment Specialist will support configuration installation testing and deployment of Cisco VoIP systems across headquarters and detachments. This includes executing configurations defined by the VoIP Architect supporting migrations from legacy systems and ensuring minimal operational disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Configuration Execution
- Support configuration and engineering of Cisco VoIP components.
- Review existing VoIP ISDN analog and digital telecom infrastructure.
- Configure IP phones gateways routers and VoIP endpoints.
- Assist integration with commercial hardware and software.
2. Deployment & Cutover
- Deploy VoIP systems with minimal impact to daily operations.
- Install and test equipment outside normal business hours as required.
- Support site-specific hardware cabling and connectivity requirements.
- Execute validated cutover and deployment tasks.
3. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Troubleshoot call routing registration failures and VoIP issues.
- Provide recommendations for resolving infrastructure challenges.
4. Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements and STIG standards.
- Report configuration changes impacting system compliance.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Document configuration steps tests and deployment findings.
- Support reporting asset tracking and knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 7 years VoIP / CUCM experience.
- Hands-on experience with phones gateways call routing SIP and VoIP protocols.
- Ability to work in secure or constrained environments.
- Willingness to travel for deployments.
Preferred Certifications:
- CCNA/CCNP Collaboration
- DoD 8570 certifications
