WHY JOIN THE TEAM

The TV SocialEdit Hub team creates bespoke social edits to support a wide range of BBC iPlayer titles to reach young audiences onTikTokYoutubeInstagramFacebook and X.

This covers clips and reactive content taken from existing shows and repurposed with graphics and dynamic text as well as story cutdowns and compilations for a range of andediting some original promo team support some of the biggest BBC titles such as The Traitors Gladiators RuPauls Drag RaceUKand A Good Girls GuideToMurder.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

As a Production Apprentice this is brilliant opportunity to learn grow and contribute you could be:

  • Developing technical and creative skills to bring BBC social content to life working as part of a core team of editors and producers
  • Editing vertical shortform clips - using Adobe Premiere Pro - from BBC shows for TikTok Instagram Facebook
  • Coming up with ideas for quick turnaround trending reactive content related to BBC shows
  • Editing longform (3-7min) social content for YouTube TikTok Instagram Facebook such as narrative content for factual titles or comedy/drama compilations
  • Occasionally supporting wider content team e.g. Original production content or screenings
  • Learning and applying skills in Premiere Pro After Effects and Photoshop

Youll be learning both on and off the job. This means that as well as learning on your placement at the BBC youll also attend learning blocks (up to a week at a time) with our learning provider working towards an industry recognised apprenticeship qualification - Level 3 Production Assistant. Learning blocks will be a mixture of in-person and virtual delivery.

Were not focused on your qualifications; instead we look for potential and offer you the opportunity to apply your transferable strengths and experience to work in different ways.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC you must:

  • Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
  • Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
  • Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme whether with the BBC or another organisation.
  • No prior learning is required to apply.

For candidates under the age of 19 years at 8th September 2026: To complete the apprenticeship you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications by the start of your apprenticeship you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessment.
