The production teams inBBC Audio create and deliver more than 100 hours of original audio every day across Radio 1 1Xtra The AsianNetworkRadio2 6Music Radio 3 Radio4and the World Service as well as content forBBC Sounds. Our podcasts and radio programmes are heard around the world. We work with some of the biggest names in music entertainment and journalism and bring the greatest festivals and events to life for our audiences.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
Asa Production apprentice this is brilliant opportunity to learn grow and contribute you could be:
- Working alongside programme makers
- Learning how our teams turn ideas into compelling audio for our audiences and supporting them in what they do.
- Contacting contributors/guests
- Coming up with ideas
- Music reporting
- Creating segments for programmes
- Working in live studio environments or out on location.
Youllbe learning both on and off the job. This means that as well as learning on your placement at the BBCyoullalso attend learning blocks (a week or two at a time) with our learning providerworking towards an industry recognised qualification Level 3 Diploma in Digital and Creative Media. Learning blocks will be delivered in-person.

Were not focused on your qualifications; instead we look for potential and offer you the opportunity to apply your transferable strengths and experience to work in different ways.

- Keen to learn all aspects of programme making
- Flexible to work across a variety of speech and music radio

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC you must:
- Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
- Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
- Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
- Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme whether with the BBC or another organisation
- No prior learning required to apply.
For candidates under the age of 19 years at 8th September 2026: To complete the apprenticeship you must have achieved Essential Skills Wales Level 2 in: Communication and Application of Number within the first 12 months of the apprenticeship.
