DescriptionMayo Clinic Healthcare in London has a new opportunity for a Lead Cardiac Physiologist to join the growing team. The Lead Cardiac Physiologist will behighly team focused an experienced Cardiac Physiologist and a positive role model. This individual isaccountable for the cardiac clinical physiology procedures and services.
The Lead Cardiac Physiologist will be involved in the provision of highly patient oriented clinical service and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians radiographers and nurses. The post holder will undertake a full range of diagnostic cardiac clinical physiology procedures and develop skills at interpreting complex clinical information responding to changes promptly and appropriately.
The Lead Cardiac Physiologistwill report directly to the Cardiology Manager and contribute to the delivery of a high-quality and effective echocardiography service and develop specialised plans of care for cardiac services include adult TTE TOE DSE Led exercise stress echo contrast and bubble echo procedures ECG physiologist led exercise treadmill tolerance tests and Holter service. The post holder will beresponsible for ensuring that policies and procedures are appropriate and followed; be clinically responsible for training the the Cardiac Physiologist team; be responsible for implementing quality assurance in reviewing requests and reports performing audits protocols for cardiac dignostics and urgent clinical review in response to all findings within the cardiac services; Together with the Cardiology Manager should be responsible for implementing and monitoring any identified risk management control measures within their scope of responsibility. The post holder must be aware of requirements for external and advisory bodies both general CQC and cardiac specific post holder will beresponsible for the effective and efficient deployment of available resources to identify opportunities for improving services and to assist the Consultants in charge in analysing practices and service performance.
The post holder will:
- Ensure that policies and procedures are appropriate and adhered to.
- Be clinically responsible for training the Cardiac Physiology team.
- Implement quality assurance measures including reviewing requests and reports performing audits developing protocols for cardiac diagnostics and conducting urgent clinical reviews in response to findings.
- Work with the Cardiology Manager to implement and monitor risk management control measures within their scope of responsibility.
- Remain aware of requirements from external and advisory bodies including the CQC and cardiacspecific organisations.
- Ensure effective and efficient deployment of resources identify opportunities for service improvement and assist Consultants in analysing practices and service performance.
Qualifications- Required to hold a BSc (Hons) degreeBSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology)or equivalent in Clinical Physiology and demonstrate relevant post qualification experience in a broad range of cardiac physiology procedures.
- Must hold an individual BSE/EACVI Adult TTE accreditation with eight years clinical experience post BSE/EACVI accreditation.
AdditionalExperience and/orQualifications:
- Experience in ECG and stress testing preferred; experience running stress echo service and assisting with TOEs procedures be able to report to a high standard following the institutional templates and protocols for imaging with reference to latest BSE/EACVI guidelines.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience working in a team environment. MS Office computer skills required.
- Prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and excellent critical thinking skills.
- Experience in private healthcare is preferred.
- Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Must be fluent in English.
Licensure/CertificationRequired:
- Must hold an individual BSE/EACVI Adult TTE accreditation and one of the following Professional CouncilRegistrations:RCCP AHCS or HCPC.
