A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant (Any Profession) to serve as People & Families Support at RAF Brize Norton on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 07 April 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).

The post holder will be responsible to Warrant Officer People and Families Support through FS People & Families Support for the delivery of positive community support provision to the Stations Service community including military personnel reservists and their families.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assisting WO and FS People & Families Support in the identification and the pursuing of enhancements to the support facilities for RAF Brize Norton for the overall benefit of the community.
• Manage and control RAF Brize Nortons Families Welfare Grant ensuring accurate recording of allocated allowances and acceptable expenditure within the guidelines of AP3392 Vol 2 Lft 2420 Annex C.
• Liaise with the Service community and their families including parented units in order to ensure their best interests are adequately represented and acted upon.
• Where individual welfare needs are identified signpost the individual to the most appropriate welfare agency.
• Assisting with the efficient management of Welfare Houses Community Centre and all other facilities/equipment under the charge of People & Families Support including providing direction to both paid and volunteer staff as required.
• Ensuring completion of the monthly return Welfare House usage to Amey/DIO.
• Supervise the organisation and facilitation of Station Recall Days and Deployed Families events including ad hoc weekend and evening duties.
• Deliver People & Families Support presentations to RAF Brize Norton personnel as required.
• Deliver the People & Families Support element of the Station Arrivals Brief.
• Undertake the usual station/unit duties in accordance with AP 3392 Vol 7 Leaflet 105A.
