POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse is a licensed professional who provides patient care in accordance with the standards policies and practices of Enloe Medical Center. The RN provides care to women during the Antepartum period. The Registered Nurse prioritizes patient needs coordinates patient care and collaborates with other members of the patient care team to provide care in accordance with the medical plan of care. The RN will make discharge and other patient care phone calls as needed and as time allows.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
- One-year clinical experience in a Labor & Delivery Unit or an advanced practice clinical rotation in OBGYN
- Limited bedside ultrasound certification (within 1 month of hire or next available training) (dept tracking)
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
- Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
- Current CPR recognition
- Fetal Monitoring Competence:
- Completion of AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or next available class
- Evidence of continued Fetal Monitoring Competence every two years (as determined by Nurse Manager)
Desired:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- National Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics (NCC) and/or Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
- Current NRP recognition
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate technical competence professional clinical judgment communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis. Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
